IFCONI |
COMMUNIQUE
Last November 30th, the members of IFCONI gathered
together at Palmas del Mar for their annual general
assembly and elections. The meeting which turned as
usual out as very joyful and exchange of friendships
among the members, had in it’s first and more
practical/technical part the organizationnal aspects
of the club such as approval of the activities of the
past year, approval of the treasury report, discharge
and approval of the excellent work done by the board
of directors, renewal of the board of directors,
visions and activity previews for 2008.
WHAT IS IFCONI?
IFCONI stands for
INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP CLUB
OF NEGROS ISLAND.
The short version of denomination as of IFCONI
comports the letters I and F – those letters combined
give the word IF.
IFCONI’s explanation and understanding of the letters
I and F, as well as of the word IF, are the following
ones:
The letter “I” – stands for INTERNATIONAL. IFCONI was
founded by it’s President Mr JW BERTRAND, together
with filipino friends. The vision is to group our
filipino hosts and the foreign guests living in this
beautiful island of Negros inside ONE organization
where everyone helps everyone. The contribution of our
filipino friends inside IFCONI consists in their
natural kindness and also practical advice and
sometimes assistance – we foreigners cannot know
everything about a country where we were not born but
which we selected to live in because of it’s beauty,
the kindness and hospitality of it’s people and the
nice climate. The contribution of us foreigners inside
IFCONI consists in bringing to the Philippines, as a
matter of SALAMAT, our way of culture and thinking and
practical assistance from abroad – our native
countries. BOTH CONTRIBUTIONS INSIDE IFCONI BRING
RESULTS. IFCONI welcomes ALL foreigners and ALL
Filipinos to join this vision.
The letter “F” – stands for FRIENDSHIP. If we all
cooperate together in the spirit of FRIENDSHIP,
support each other in the way and with the means that
we have, everyone becomes a winner. And we foreign
guests living here have an organization to meet
together during the activities of IFCONI, together
with our filipino friends and hosts, and enjoy nice
times, ALL TOGETHER.
The word “IF” stands for - “IF we stick together in
the way of IFCONI, we all will be prosperous and happy
in our lives here in beautiful Negros Island – COZ WE
HAVE SO MANY GOOD FRIENDS HERE.”
Beside a vast program of joyful events coming for
2008, such as organization of an INTERNATIONAL FOOD
FESTIVAL in Bacolod, visits of cultural and
educationnal interest, field trips to discover the
nice places of Negros Island but also of other
islsands of this beautiful country, organization of
traditionnal filipino folk-dance evening,
participation to this amazing annual event of Masskara
in Bacolod and many more,
IFCONI proposes to rally the support of the foreign
embassies in Manila of it’s various international
members in way to support the activity program,
BUT ALSO act as a liaison office with the different
embassies concerned, where our filipinoi friends can
gather practical information and assistance in case of
international trips and business.
IFCONI is a non-profit making association and, within
it’s possibilities, aims to use it’s dynamism and
foreign support inside the organization also for
SUPPORT to our filipino hosts, such as providing
scholarships to meritant but materially disadvantaged
filipino school-children and many more. Just to say
SALAMAT for the hospitality.
IFCONI waits for ALL to join… Filipinos and
Foreigners. We have so much in common. We are all
FRIENDS. And FRIENDS ALWAYS HELP EACH OTHER.
